Where Live the Tallest People in the World? |
Still in Netherlands. Recently, however, the height of an average Dutchman didn’t considerably change, though in the beginning of the century this nation was said to be the tallest in the world.
“After the year 2001 the height of adults in Netherlands didn’t significantly change upwards,” was noted in the report of Central Statistical Office, “the growth retardation was also registered among Dutch women.”
Beginning from 1980-s the height of an average Dutchman increased at more than 3 cm, in the year 2000 it exceeded 180 cm.
However, since that time there weren’t any particular changes; according to statistical data for the year 2006, an adult Dutchman is 181 cm high. The height of an adult Dutchwoman is at average 168 cm and more.
In its report the Statistical Office has used the information collected during the annual medical inspection of 10 000 people.
In series of international researches the Dutchmen were once again claimed to be the tallest people in the world. Quite recently, this data was presented in an article published in the Annals of Human Biology magazine; its authors are professors from Princeton and Munich university. |
