The air liner Airbus A380, belonging to the company “Singapore Airlines” on taking off from the airport of Singapore left the takeoff strip, taking tires damage. According to Steven Forshaw, representative of the air company, constructive elements of the plane have not been damaged.

According to the company representative, there were 446 passengers in the plane going to Sydney, Australia. No one was hurt in the incident. Technical services are examining the reasons of the accident, reports the Associated Press.

Today’s incident is not the first one in the history of world’s biggest passenger liner A380. 1 September, 2007, the air liner of the Thailand air company “Thai Airways International” touched the hangar with its wing in the international airport of Bangkok before taking off. There were several hundreds of passengers on board of A380. However, the flight was postponed since the wing of the liner suffered mechanical damages. No one was hurt in the incident.

A380 of the air company “Singapore Airlines” went on its first commercial flight on 25 October, 2007. The plane took off from the Singapore Changi Airport and landed in Sydney, Australia. On 26 October it returned to Singapore. The tickets to this flight were sold on a volunteer auction. Passengers had to pay from $560 to $100.380 for a ticket. On the whole, 455 tickets were sold for the flight.

The passenger variant of A380, which is 73 meters long, may fly without landing and refueling 14,5 thousand km. It may carry up to 853 people at once. Carrying capacity of the standard version of liner makes up 525 people.

А380 is also distinguished by the fact that it consumes less fuel than similar aircrafts used by the world air companies. According to “Airbus” experts, application of innovative technologies and new materials allowed to reduce consumption of fuel by 13% on the average, bringing this indicator to less than 3 liters of fuel for 100 km per each passenger, which has become a record indicator for aircrafts of similar class.

“Airbus” is a transnational aircraft company which comprises engineering and production centers, situated in France, Germany, Great Britain and Spain, as well as its own subsidiaries in the USA, China and Japan. Shareholders of “Airbus” are European Aerospace and Defense Company EADS, as well as the company “BAE Systems”.
