The main and leading resort at the Azure shore that is visited by many tourists and was called by Greek people in honour of Nice the Goddess of Victory, has been attracting visitors to French Riviera for many years already.

Just imagine yourself staying on the balcony of the luxurious hotel “Negresco” whose dome has become the symbol of Nice and the whole Azure shore, where the glance flies far beyond the skyline, enjoyable cool breeze gently kisses your hair making the light artistic jumble, a gorgeous view at Angels’ bay is all before you, you embrace the beloved person nearby, dreamily and with light smile you enjoy the scenery around you, you are happy, beautiful and coupled with this gorgeousness you make up a unique nepenthes with the flavour of harmony.

The great man Frederick Nietzsche called the beauty of this city “shameless”. And he was not far from truth. Nice as a queen takes the gifts of the sea that cherishes its shores, the gifts of the sun that spoils it as a baby with its captivating micro climate where the winter temperature is not less than +10C and the summer temperature is not higher than + 25C, Nice is surrounded by its guards – foothills of Maritime Alps that protect it against cold northern winds.

The Paillon river, that is rather a mountainous stream, divides the city - it flows underground that makes it difficult to notice it in the streets of the city: there is a modern new city on the west and to the east there is the cosily located old city where in spite of the new tendencies and success of architects in modernization, Nice managed not to loose its Medieval heritage: small houses of pastel shades that stand tightly nearby each other and are covered with the red tile, narrow winding streets with the number of small and cosy restaurants and shops.

Yes, indeed, the fascination of Nice is in its nature, genial climate and architecture of the old city, in its numerous markets and flower bazaar. The contrast of Nice is in all this – in mixture of residents, that deftly skirr in the markets buying everything necessary, and at the same time – foreign tourists strolling along the stalls. This combination creates the inimitable vividness of the city that distinguishes it from regular resorts due to life fountain that doesn’t stop to play even when the tourist season is over.

Actually Nice is an ideal place for walks and active rest in Riviera. It is the city to hike about, dropping into small cafes, numerous agreeable restaurants on the way to satisfy thirst and hunger. Absolutely magnificent and amazing embankment of almost 7 km of length that is considered to be the most popular place for leisured walks gives the possibility to enjoy the gorgeousness of sights, palaces and villas in rococo style. The wide promenade stretches along the pompous foresides of the hotels at one side and along the stony beaches and azure sea at the other. This embankment is called an English embankment - promenade des Anglais, because some day in the past English aristocracy took fancy to Nice and financed inshore pavement laying that became now not just a favourite place for meetings of vacationers and local residents and for dates but also became one of the most famous sea embankment in the world.

Luxury is represented by the mixture of cultures and traditions. Contrast – in super modern cars driving along the ancient buildings; it is a constant flow of entertainments, fashionable restaurants and cafes in “modern” and “fusion” styles and old time bath-places. There is easiness, freedom and flavor of aristocratic rest and rich elegance here.
Aroma of mimosa and carnation mixed with the reddish gleams of the sunset, well-chosen cafe from where the glance flies beyond the horizon and drowns in the endlessness of the seashore... Isn’t it really exciting?
And how much delight your eyes can get from flower and fruit-vegetable fair!

“Viquaz” salad that consists of pepper, kidney bean, tomato, olives, onion, garlic, tune, anchovy fillet and much olive oil will gladden your taste sensation. And also I would recommend you to taste the stuffed poultry meat, dry-cure pout, and soksa – a kind of scones. While walking toward the eastern part of English embankment that runs into Quai des Etats-Unis embankment it is possible to enjoy some of the best restaurants of Nice that specialize in special fish soup buiabes.

This corner of wilderness is a fairy tale for the painters attracting with its landscape, sights and wonderful climate.
