Best Amusing Incidents in the Field of Tourism in 2007 |
Even the strangest incidents that happen to travelers serve as object of investigation and ratings. The agency MSNBC.com has made the rating of the most curious incidents that had happened to air travelers and tourists.
In order to ensure safety of air travelers during the flights, administration of the Nepal air company “Nepal Air” decided to sacrifice two goats to Akasha Bairaba, the Hindu god of the sky, as a response to technical defects in the engine of one of the two airplanes Boeing 757 that belong to the company. Soon after the sacrifice the defects were repaired and the company’s activity has been restored.
According to statistics published by the hotel network “Travelodge”, the number of sleep-walkers among their guests has increased 7 times in the year of 2007. The fact that many of sleep-walkers were naked was considered as a peculiar prejudice of the company’s reputation. In response to this phenomenon the company has issued a special guide of handling sleep-walkers for the hotel staff, and obliged the administration to have several sheets available in halls to wrap the naked guests.
The air traveler can be made get off the airplane not only because of his indecent clothes, but also because of his one year old baby. The child was crying too loud at taking off, and his childish prattle, “Bye-bye, airplane”, appeared to the crew to be a bad sign. The child’s mother was asked to give her offspring something to drink. As soon as she refused to do this, the airplane was turned down and the two were made get off.
During one of the flights, air travelers heard one of the pilots quarreling by his mobile phone and reproved him. The pilot lost his temper and began scolding the passengers. It turned out that the pilot did not pass the alcohol-test before the flight for some reason. When the pilot was taken out of the airplane, he cursed the air travelers and predicted the unfortunate destiny of this flight. After these curses the pilot’s colleagues decided to cancel the flight.
While the US Congress was thinking on the measures that would allow air companies become subordinate to their customers, one of the Congressmen pushed the employee of an air company who did not let him in the service room to complain of the loss of his luggage.
In this connection we may mention Kent Koch, the town of Bend, Idaho, who had tied 105 helium balloons to an arm-chair, risen in the air and flown to Idaho. He landed eight hours later, 96 kilometers away from Idaho and 310 kilometers away from the place of start. This distance can certainly be covered two times quicker by car. However, in what another way can you enjoy a 360-degree field of view?
Police officers claim that each time a driver gets in his car, he violates at least one of the traffic rules. Vatican has probably taken this trivial remark on trust and issued a “Guide on Pastoral Care for Traffic”, recommending drivers to give way to pedestrians, observe speed limits, avoid using mobile phones while driving and regularly perform technical checkups.
The pastoral message says, “Cars should neither be your means of violence and love of power, nor cause of a sin”. Special attention is paid to beads. Their melodious knocking sets the right tempo of movement and does not distract attention of the praying driver. |
