They jump with the parachute and fly with the fang-glider, climb the world’s highest mountains and go down to the ocean floor. We have already got accustomed to their crazy deeds performed in chase of adrenaline. However, some of them prefer to do this stark naked.

Nudists and naturists of all kind have recently been struggling for their place under the sun, trying to obtain the right for existence without the foolish rags of “textiles” on their bodies. Therefore, the number of sports, in which “people without clothes” have already distinguished themselves, is constantly getting greater. Bike ride is one of the most harmless amusements for health (but not for psyche of the surrounding people). Many Western countries even host the World Naked Bike Ride. Although its participants can be fined for hooliganism and violation of the public order, local authorities cannot resist public opinion of the enormous crowd of naked people. As a rule, police officers protect sportsmen during their route, instead of arresting them.

Alpinism and mountaineering are also very popular among naturists. To stay alone in the mountains, soar above the land and neighboring rocks on a thin rope and feel a fantastic pleasure, after rising to the sky – that is how most of them describe their unusual hobby. Certainly, not all people welcome such a hobby. When slopes of Everest were crowded by naked people, local citizens revolted. Therefore, in the end of the previous year, Nepal authorities even declared their intention to legally prohibit climbing the highest mountain top in the world, considered sacred in this area, without clothes. Doctors also contribute their share, convincing people of fatal consequences of such amusements: however precious the freedom from clothes is, health is more precious. After their mountain deeds nudists apply to doctors with severe sunburns (independent of their relation towards clothes, it partially protects human body from the hot sunrays). Tender genitals, accustomed to being covered, get burnt especially quickly, which may lead to oncological diseases. Although walking barefoot is very pleasant, it may inflict injuries of feet and lead to bites of insects and serpents.

Naked parachute jumpers get even higher. In order to feel unity with nature, they are ready to endure many things: harsh strapping cut into the skin, uncovered parts of the body tremble in the wind, the body freezes in the sky cold, not to mention landing, which is not very pleasant even in clothes.

Many people, who do not consider themselves nudists, admit swimming in the sea stark naked. But why is it necessary to dive and run the risk of hurting against fish fins and corals, as well as of being stung and bitten by inhabitants of the sea depth? According to people who practice such diving, this is done for the sake of fantastic freedom that can be felt only while swimming in the ocean with a single oxygen cylinder behind one’s back. Special clubs of the “naked divers” are organized to share experience and arrange common diving. It would be all right if the naked lovers of extreme dived in warm waters only. However, among lovers of the naked way of life there are winter-swimmers who dive stark naked in ice-holes even during terrible frosts. If asked why it is necessary to dive without pants, they answer that, first, bathing suit makes you feel even colder, and second, it helps to save time, since you shall freeze while putting the suit on and taking it off.

Swimming in the ice-hole is not the sole winter hobby of nudists and naturalists. Lovers of life without clothes are also attracted by such unsuitable, as it may seem, winter sports as snowboarding and mountain skiing. They even organize contests in “naked” free-ride, freestyle, slalom and other sports. And when such an extreme sportsman is sliding on the slope, skillfully avoiding the obstacles, it terrifies to think of what may happen if he makes a mistake and falls head over hills at high speed, scratching his tender skin against the harsh snow. It goes without saying that mountain skiing is much more dangerous for naked people.

Nothing human is alien to nudists. They simply want to live and do what other people do, only without putting on clothes. Naturists are also winning more and more space in our world, making us acknowledge their right for the freedom of expression. In increasing frequency they exceed borders of their reservations and enter “the world”, shocking adults and frightening children. At doing so, they do not think of the right of other people not to see their bare delights.
