Forbes magazine has made a list of the most decadent parties in the world, which guarantee lots of pleasure for the participants.
1. Carnival in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Date of event: from 2 till 5 of February.
Annually it assembles about 700 thousand tourists and brings to the treasury of Rio de Janeiro about 500 million dollars.
2. Mardi Gras, New Orleans, USA. Date of event: from 2 till 5 of February. Initially – a costume performance on the occasion of greeting spring in the French Quarter of New Orleans.
3. Oktoberfest. Date of event: from 20 of September till 5 of October. The festival of beer, brezels, roast chicken, carousels and good mood. Annually it brings 1.4 billion dollars to the treasury.
4. New Year party in Las Vegas, USA. Date of event: from December 31, till January the 1st. This night champagne in the city is sold for 1 thousand dollars per bottle.
5. Running of the Bulls (national Spanish custom, representing the runaway from bulls, cows or calves, let out from corral on purpose). Date of event: from 6 till 14 of July. The place of event: Pamplona, Spain.
6. “Burning Man” festival, Black-Rock city, state of Nevada. Date of event: from August, 25 till September the 1st. The tradition of the Burning Man festival has originated in the year 1985, when actors and viewers of a street show in San Francisco have burnt a wooden giant with the height of about 2.5 meters on the beach. Since then the wooden giant has grown from year to year, and the participants of the acting have invented new pranks, objects for burning, scripts and traditions.
7. Bastille day, Paris, France. Date of event: 14 of July. Is dedicated to the French Revolution, and namely to the day of storming the Bastille, happened in the year 1789.
8. Gay Pride Parade, San Francisco, USA. Date of event: from 28 till 29 of July. The march of sexual minorities, organized by the activists of gay movement.
9. Love-parade, Dortmund, Germany. Date of event: not set up yet. In the year 2007 it was held in the city of Essen. It assembles millions of fans of dance music from all over the world. |
