First "women" hotel in Saudi Arabia |
In the capital of the Saudi Arabia, El Riyadh a triumphant ceremony has been held of the opening of the first in the country hotel, dedicated exceptionally for women. This hotel does not obey the usual Kingdom rules, according to which - a woman (local representative or a tourist) cannot stay in a hotel or book a room in it if she is not accompanied by the male guardian - husband, father or anybody from the husband's relatives.
The "women" Luthan hotel includes 25 suites and several conference halls. It has been built according to the initiative of a number of Saudi businesswomen and is supposed to help Saudi businesswomen in their everyday life and traveling. The Prince Sultan bin Salman who is the head of the High Tourism Council of Saudi Arabia has taken part in the opening ceremony. He exposed his hope that similar hotels will be soon built also in the other regions of the country, what will surely help the development of the business activity among Saudi businesswomen.
Saudi Arabia - is one of the countries with most severe Moslem laws. Unlike other Islamic countries, women are not allowed here to drive cars. They are also not allowed to vote. But in the last years, the Saudi Women are more and more active social life participants in the kingdom. |
