The strong top positions among the most expensive currencies of the world have claimed the currencies of the Middle Eastern oil-producing countries: Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman. To feel a single dinar or rial in your hands, you will have to let your purse waste $2,2-3,1. By the way, the hand feeling will be not so ordinary: the Kuwait dinar is made of plastic. The inhabitants of “the best Arabic country for living” (such “title” has been awarded to Kuwait by UNO) are not complaining about their lives – each 15-th citizen is a millionaire and the amount of VIP signs all around, starting from museums and finishing with toilets makes an amateur traveler dazzled.

Almost a year ago the authorities of Kuwait have canceled the attachment of their currency to US dollar that is constantly losing his positions. Besides, in the nearest countries of the Persian Gulf an introduction of the new internal currency is planned, which still does not have it's name. The concurrent of the US dollar and euro should appear in 2010. Silently and without proclamation of the currency wars, the countries of the central and western Africa are already using for their exchanges a little bit strange currency - “Franc CFA”. “Franc” is not occasional here: all the countries on the territory, where this currency is being used, were some time ago French colonies. CFA – means "Colonies françaises d'Afrique" – French Colonies of Africa.

US dollar tortured by the rises and falls has taken only 13-th place in our rating. Probably, this “unhappy” position is the main reason of the constant fall of the American currency in the last times. This funny theory is strengthened also by the fact that the euro that had success from the very moment of the appearance in the purses on the 1-st of January 2002, has taken the 7-th place. As we know, the digit “seven” appears as happy digit (and even mystical) in many countries.

What about the cheaper currencies, here are actually some pretty strange named currencies. In the rating, among a dozen of the various dollars, you could find levs, solei, kun, byr, kordob, metikalov, tak, kvach, won, dram and tugrik. If your flat is quite small and you possess a lot of money, you could use the experience of the inhabitants of Hungary, who have emitted the banknote with the greatest nominal value ever - 1 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 pengo.
