The web-site of the British Guardian has published the list of the best ecological places of the Great Britain for a short rest.

1. Natural Retreats, Yorkshire-Dales
A group of 10 wooden houses with glass fronts, located on the slope of a hill in the national park Yorkshire-Dales. The founders of the Natural Retreats didn't open bars and shops in their complex to support the local infrastructure, so the guests shop at the Richmond market, located nearby. The prices start from 325 pounds for two nights.

2. The Straw Bale Cabin, Western Yorkshire
The Western Yorkshire is deprived of the attention of the tourists, but the Straw Bale Cabin on the abandoned farm in East-Riding is worth it, to get away from the usual touristic routes. Everything in the house is made with the ecological accent - the bed-clothes out of only natural materials, furniture out of the recycled stuff, wind-generator. 3. The Hytte, Northumberland

A cottage in Shropshire-Hills a couple of miles away from the Ludlow. In the shop by the Ecocabin the ecologically clean local products are being sold. 420-605 pounds per week or 95-105 pound per night.

8. Shankwood Log Cabin, Cumbria
A timbered house in the ancient woods. The river Lyne is two miles away, where you can fish, bathe or just walk in the woods. 70-110 pound per night for four.

9. Eco-lodge, Lincolnshire
A cottage built from the local wood gets the electricity from the windmill and is heated by a stove. Starting from 340 pound per week.

10. Eco-Cabins at the Centre for Alternative Technology, Powis
Eco-cottages, located in the Centre for Alternative Technology, Wales. Here all the possible eco-technologies are being used: the electricity is obtained from the wind, sun, water and bio-fuel. All houses are warmed by the sun water panels and wooden stoves. The guests can visit the Centre and have a meal in the vegetarian restaurant. Starting from 220 pounds per night.
