The "Great French Mystery" is revealed |
The Cornell University medics have announced that they have revealed the secret of the "Great French Mystery".
The discovery is as follows: most of the French have much more well-shaped figures as the Americans. This contradicts to the elementary logic: the matter is that the inhabitants of France consume often more calories than their American equals in age (the base of the French menu are quite nutritious cheeses, spaghetti, sweets and buns) and it is determined that the city dwellers of USA and France have almost the same level of physical activity.
The Cornell University specialists, that have examined several hundreds of people from Paris and Chicago came to a conclusion that the clue of this paradox is quite simple. The problem is that the French are listening to the "internal voice" and the Americans are getting accustomed to the external circumstances. So, the French have their snack when they feel hungry. And the Americans get accustomed to the daily schedule (for example - lunch at 13:00 and dinner at 19:00) of the other persons (for example in a group football match watching you should drink beer or eat pop-corn) and other schedules. The Frenchmen usually stop when they are not hungry anymore - and the Americans try to eliminate everything that is at their plate. |
