Rating of the World's Odd Entertainment Parks |
The list of the most weird entertainment parks includes excavator roundabouts and the Danish "Sweet Land".
In the Japanese Miyazaki there is a man-made ocean - the Ocean Dome. This is the biggest aqua-park in the world. It's pool is decorated with marble plates with the whole weight of 600 tons. The capacity of the park is 10 thousands people and it's main decoration - is the giant sliding roof that allows the visitors to sunbathe. In bad weather and in the evenings the roof is closed and a unique lights system with ultraviolet rays is switched on.
There is a man-made tropical forest and a mini-volcano that erupts every hour inside of the Japanese aqua-park. But the most interesting is that this giant "artificial ocean" is located in 300 meters from the real ocean with gorgeous beaches.
The Lithuanian park Grutas mixes up the entertainment and the doom memorials of the Soviet epoch. The huge sculptures of the Iosif Stalin and the Soviet soldiers neighbor here with a zoo and a children playground. The park is surrounded with a pit and watch towers, turning it into a horrible illusion of a concentration lager.
The Nintendo entertainment park is not linked with the Nintendo corporation that produces the world famous gaming consoles and software for these. It does not really resemble a park. This is an implementation of the "Super-Mario" video game in reality. In this part the guests are offered to repeat the wanders of the virtual Italian plumbers Mario Mario and Luigi Mario.
It is a perfect opportunity to try the experience of the video game personages if the action would happen in the real life. Currently, the park exists only as prototype and it's creators are searching for development funds and negotiating with Nintendo and Disney about the possible partnership.
The Danish "sweets" entertainment park BonBon-Land resembles the analogue confectionery Hershey Park in Pennsylvania. But in the Danish variation - all the heroes of the park are created pretty frivolous, what is not really astonishing in the most liberal country of Europe. The lascivious cows with giant bosoms, dissolute tortoises, erotic horses and other man-like creatures attract the attention of the children and the adults. And a ride in a whirligig around the huge heap of chocolate dog shit (accompanied by the corresponding sounds) completely enraptures the visitors.
The visitors of the English Diggerland are entertained with the use of all the possible digging equipment. The roundabouts here are the huge excavators, tractors and other digging equipment. The visitors squeals in delight, shaking in the scoops of the giant machines.
The Buddha entertainment park Suoi Tien is located in Vietnam. It's interiors., including the huge Buddha statue - are tuning you at first to a religious mood, but when the visitors ride the water roundabout or take look into a wonderful cave with the bats - the mood instantly changes. The park is famous for their crocodile farm, which inhabitants horrify the tourists and for the trip via the 12 "Hell Gates" at the attraction "The Pirates of the Caribic".
The entertainment industry does not forget the Romanian Duke Vlad Tsepesh, also known under the name of Drakula. It's a pity, but the Romanian authorities have rejected the idea to build a theme park in Transilvania, at the historic motherland of the legendary vampire. The think that the construction and the mass traffic of tourists could damage the local forest where the 400-years old oaks grow. But there are rumors that the construction will take place anyway, it will just be moved a little bit closer to Bucharest.
Those who want to witness the luxury and the poverty of the Great Britain of the 19-th century - do not have to use the time machine. It is enough to visit the Dickens World park, dedicated to the works of the great Charles Dickens. Everything here has a link with the heroes of his legendary novels. The children playground is called the "Fagin's Den" and the spirit of the Ebenezer Scrooge from the "Christmas Tales" is haunting the visitors. The construction of the park had cost 62 million sterling pounds ($120M). |
