The consumer magazine "Which?" has published the rating of the most unusual hotels, where you can really spend your time in an unusual way.
The top of the list is occupied by the prison of the XIII-th century, reconstructed into a hotel, that allows you to feel yourself more like a con waiting for the majesty's mercy, than a guest. The pleasure to spend a night in the former penitentiary establishment, currently bearing the name of "Malmaison Oxford" will cost 184 pounds sterling ($366) to the client.
Another interesting place for rest is the old railway station in Petworth, West Sussex. For 120 pounds ($238) the clients can have a rest with "Pimms" cocktail at the platform or to have a snack in the real waiting room and the station cash desk.
The "Cley Windmills" hotel, located at the Norfolk coast has also been distinguished. The surroundings, rich with reed is so scenic that it has been selected as the scenery for the "Conspirators" movie with Elizabeth Taylor and now is seen in the BBC1 headband.
For those who want more loneliness, there is a "Spitbank Fort" hotel - a fortress and a lighthouse, located in one and half kilometers from Portsmouth. The fortified construction of the XIX-th century, that has already no weapons inside, offers the ambiente full of incomparable serenity for only 200 pounds ($398) per night.
The "Tree House" straw hotel in the West Sussex is also very serene and is offered for 125 pounds ($249).
