Even the policemen were puzzled by the last cases of theft in Europe. Railroad bridge weighing many tons had been stolen in Czech Republic, and in Great Britain the loot of the criminals is an albino peacock.

The stolen steel bridge belonged to the abandoned railway branch, connecting the Cheb city with Stary Hrozenkov on the east of Czech Republic. According to the Czech newspaper The Prague Daily Monitor, the construction had the weight of 4 tones; however, it didn’t stop the evil-doers.

According to police officer Ladislav Boem, the odd theft has taken place somewhat between December 5 of the year 2007 and January 11, year 2008. It is impossible to deduce it more precisely.

In police they estimate the damage to be 20 thousand Czech koruna (about 1.2 thousand dollars).

According to preliminary data, the bridge was stolen as the scrap metal. The price rise on metal has already leaded to the increase of the number of different thefts of corresponding metals. Not only the railroad machinery but also tin covering the roofs of the churches is being stolen.

However, the press secretary of the Czech Ministry of Home Affairs Martina Hruskova doesn’t exclude the possibility that the bridge was stolen for the personal use. Though, the Ministry didn’t specify how one could use such a lunker. The police search for the thief.

It should be noted, that in the same December the evil-doers had stolen a whole beach in Hungary, with tones of sand, locker rooms, sports facilities and trading halls. The commission just came to close the beach due to the end of season but found only the desolate river bank.

The authorities have especially badly reacted to this news, because the country doesn’t have an access to the sea, and thus do not have lots of such resort zones.

The public servants have even presupposed that this odd crime was specially committed on the eve of accession of Hungary and other seven states of the former social camp to the Schengen zone. The authorities thought that now the thieves could convey what they have stolen to any place in Europe without any obstacles.

On the other end of Europe the law-enforcement officers also scratch their heads over the odd trick of the thieves. This time the criminals took possession of a peacock and two peahens, which lived in Upton House park in the British town of Poole in Dorsetshire county. At that, as told by The Telegraph, the stolen peacock was of a very rare white color.

Following the fallen feathers the policemen could trace the pathway of the evil-doers, but outside the park their tracks were missed.

In the British issue they mock that the policemen didn’t yet made the guess that both thefts were committed by the members of a surrealist-gangsters’ cartel in order to fit out a decorative garden. However, the European selection breeders of the rare birds are already worried.
