The Best Place for Tourists |
According to the results of the inquiry held among the readers of Global Traveler magazine, Malaysia is considered to be “The best international tourist direction.” Malaysia wins this position second year running. In this nomination it is ahead of Italy, Spain, Thailand and Great Britain.
The inquiry was held from February 1 till August 31 of the year 2007. The responders had to determine the best tourist directions and brands in the segment of business- and luxury-tourism in 49 nominations.
The questionnaire was distributed as a special supplement to the magazine and published on the web-site of Global Traveler. Altogether 15 828 questionnaires received from the readers were processed.
In the investigation of the year 2008 there are combined the prices of the premium segment of the trips. For example, a night in the best hotels of Kuala Lumpur will cost not more than 100 Euros, while in Rome a tourist will spend at least 500 Euros for the same set of services.
In other nominations the leaders are: “The best tourist direction in USA” – Hawaii; “The best airline” – Singapore Airlines; “The best airport” – Incheon (Seoul); “The best air alliance” – Sky Team; “The best hotel in the USA” – Bel-Air (Los Angeles); “The best international resort for playing golf” – Gleneagles (Scotland); “The best hotel chain in Asia” – Mandarin Oriental.
It should be remembered that the advertising campaign held last year by the Ministry of Tourism of Malaysia on the occasion of the 50 years of independence was more than successful. It attracted attention not only to the holiday but also to the possibilities of vacation in this country.
Malaysia – is a country in the South-Eastern Asia, consisting of two parts, divided by the South China Sea. The West Malaysia (or Peninsular Malaysia) on the Malacca Peninsula consists of 11 states and 2 federal lands and borders on Thailand in the North and on Singapore in the South, there is a dam over a strait leading to Singapore. The East Malaysia consists of the federal land Labuan, and two states: Sabah and Sarawak, occupying the northern part of Borneo Island. These states border on Indonesia and Sultanate of Brunei.
The state represents the federation of 13 states. Eleven of them are situated on the Malacca Peninsula and two – on the Borneo Island.
Malaysia has quickly assimilated all the progressive world technologies – on the territory of this country are situated the two highest skyscrapers in the world and lot of “cyber”-centers of computer companies.
However, regardless of that, one can still find here the places untouched by the mankind, for example one of the less investigated jungles in the world – Sabah and Sarawak, also here is situated one of the most famous old harbors of the South-Eastern Asia – Georgetown, where the atmosphere of the old colonial times is still preserved. The exuberance of vegetation, in which sink mountains and valleys is in abundance in the country.
The forests in Malaysia are one of the oldest ones in the world. Also the country owns lots of small islands. Even in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, which is bristled with its high ambitious new buildings, you can still find exotic markets and feel the national Malaysian coloring.
Tours to Malaysia – is the possibility of visiting the luxurious beaches, warm lagoons, nature reserves, industrial cities, virgin jungle. The richness of the wild nature, a great assortment of goods, the diversity of the local cuisine – these are far from all reasons for visiting this mysterious country. |
