Tourists have stripped Trajan's forum |
An Italian newspaper has performed an experiment, that has shown that the historical monuments in the country are being poorly guarded.
Almost all the fragments of statues and pieces of amphora that were located in the Trajan's forum in Rome recently, were disassembled and taken out from the territory by the tourists.
The collaborative of the newspaper has performed an experiment: in the broad daylight he took out of the Forum territory a box with ancient relics and none of the guards has stopped him. According to the words of an archaeologist, working on the territory of the forum, the tourists have taken out of the forum everything that has been historically valuable - the cameras and surveillance systems are in fact useless and the territory barrier is quite easy to trespass.
Trajan's Forum is the biggest Emperor's forums, or the public squares of Rome, has been built in 112 A.D. The complex includes Ulpia basilica, the Emperor's library and Trajan's column - the only construction that exists nowadays. |
