The Costa-Rica government has promised to the ecologists, that are worried by the negative influence of the tourism development to the environment, to perform emergency actions towards the improvement of the situation.

Several coastal resort licenses have been already canceled. Their sewage and water cleaning system appeared to be not really reliable and some waste got into the Caribbean Sea and Pacific Ocean.

Besides, the cleaning of the beaches and forests from garbage left by the tourists is performed. And since the 9-th of April there is a low that restricts the building height and density in most of the Costa-Rica provinces.

Costa-Rica is a unique ecosystem complex that cannot be found anywhere in other countries of the world. But this splendid beauty is already threatened by the quick tourism development in the region.

Trying to achieve the record quantity of luxury hotels and foreign guests, the businessmen forget about the necessity to comply to the elementary rules of the environmental safety.

For example, the Tamarindo beach that is famous for the extraordinary surfing opportunities - has turned the coastal waters into the reservoir for the sewerage system. The examination of the water, held by a research institute has revealed that the fecal mass concentration in the water is incredibly higher that allowed.

Such violations are observed today almost in all countries of the Central America. With the growth of the touristic industry and infrastructure, the ecological situation in the region gets worse.

For example, monkeys have always been the symbol of the tropical woods that attract lots of visitors each year. But only 10 years of active touristic business have resulted that the population of these mammals has been decreased by 50%.

The same destiny for the unique giant tortoises, so beloved by the guests of the Pacific shore. During the last 20 years their population has been reduced by 97%. The scientists suppose that if the construction of luxury hotels and resorts at the natural beaches won't be stopped - these animals soon won't exist anymore.

Because of the absence of any rules that regulate the construction density, the popularity of the Costa-Rican coast among the owners of the hotel business has grown by 600% during the last 10 years. This is a serious threat for all thee various flora and fauna of the Central America.

Only a few countries can compare their natural beauties with Costa-Rica, that is 280 kilometers wide in the widest point. For example in Costa-Rica, that can be crossed from the Pacific to the Caribbean in a couple of hours, there are as many species of exotic butterflies as in the whole African continent.

Costa-Rica is an ideal direction for the ecotourism, romantic tours and SPA-journeys. According to the opinion of the most travelers, Costa-Rica is one of the most beautiful countries of the world.

Mountain ridges, covered by the dense forests, volcanoes with turquoise lakes in their craters, beaches with silver sand, noisy waterfalls, sleepy fishermen villages and coffee plantations in the valleys - you can really feel the magic and the huge energy of the virgin nature here.

About 25% of the territory of this mountain country are the national parks and reserves, where you can find 5% of the world variety of flora and fauna.

The tourists that have decided to explore this wonderful country will make lots of discoveries and adventures: ascent to the tops of the giant trees, visit to the craters of the smoking volcanoes, underwater trips in the company of sharks, river safari with 5-meter long crocodiles and lots more.

Among the most popular entertainments are: walking in the national parks and reserves, watching the wild animals and birds, canopy-tours (sliding on the ropes between the tree tops) and walks on the pendant bridges, horse riding, bicycle and quad riding, rafting of various complexity, kayaking, surfing and windsurfing, sport fishing (lake Arenal), diving, visits to the Indian villages, coffee routes, one-day cruises to the Tortuga island with white sand beaches, folklore shows, cave walks, dolphin watching ans much more.
