The country court of the English Stoke-on-Trent has satisfied the claim of a man that has demanded compensation because he had to stay in a hotel full of Germans during his holiday. The court has forced the touristic company to pay 1500 dollars to the person.
During his holiday the 47-years old David Barnish, his wife and three children have stayed in one of the hotels of the Kos resort at Cyprus. The total cost of the trip was 8 thousand dollars. But it had turned out that the whole activities in the hotel were held in German and as the result, no one of the family could take part in the entertainment activities.
Mr Barnish has sued the "Thompson" touristic company. According to his words, the agents of the company should have warned that the selected hotel is occupied mostly by the Germans. The court has settled the case in favor of the Englishman, explaining that those hotels that are stated in an English catalog should offer services to Englishmen in their native language.
"I’m not racist, as equally I wouldn’t like my family holiday at a hotel overrun by English. That is exactly the same for the Frenchmen, Spaniards - people of any nationality. But everything in that hotel - menu, reception, service - was in German",- tells David.
According to his words, only 25 from 700 guests of the hotel were Englishmen, when he stayed there in August 2007. The company that sold him this trips regrets the spoiled vacation. |
