The dutch bicycle organization Fietsersbond plans to teach all the volunteers the main bicycle theft techniques to make the citizens to care more responsibly about their two-wheeled friends.

As the practice shows, after such lessons that took place in large cities of the country, the bicyclers are paying more attention to the security devices.

"We show people the basic methods of the opening of various types of locks. This will help them to use more safe security equipment when they lock their bikes on the streets",- told a representative of Fietsersbond.

In 2007 in the Netherlands, where bicycles are the most popular means of transport, there were about 700 000 bicycles stolen. There are 18 million of these in the country.

The members of the Fietsersbond organization are planning to travel across the country with their courses to present the methods to the rural citizens so that they can be ready for trips to big cities without disappointment that could await them.
