1. Do not check your luggage
Learn to pack your luggage in such a way so that you don’t have to look for anything in it all the time. Be satisfied with your hand luggage, especially in case of transit flights.

2. Mark your bags
Make sure that your suitcase has both inside and outside identification marks. Before each flight make sure that the bar-code is properly attached to the suitcase, and there is a visiting card of yours inside the suitcase. Some passengers place information about their flight schedule and the hotel they are going to stay at in their suitcase.

3. Choose direct flights
Shifting the luggage from one flight to another in transit airports is the main reason of losses. Direct flights are usually more expensive, but the proverb “time is money” is true.

4. Arrive at the airport in time
In case of an untimely passing through control your suitcase may fail to be placed aboard, especially in our century of advanced security systems when the procedure of checking one suitcase may last endlessly.

5. Pack your suitcase correctly
Never put an alarm clock near the cable of an iPod player. It may arise suspicion when your bag shall be x-rayed. The same thing refers to objects declared potentially dangerous. Remember that the second scanning of your luggage shall delay its delivery aboard.

6. Choose bags that differ from the total load
You definitely don't have tot paint your bag in bright pink colours. Instead you may somehow visually mark it. In this context, bright bands are rather popular with travelers (besides, they are easy to remove). Besides, when choosing a travel bag pick out something bright. And if you choose an old travelling bag of 1920s you shall run almost no risk of loosing it.

7. Avoid shortening the period of staying in the transit zone
In spite of the wish to minimize the period of staying in the transit zone, you’d better pass through all procedures unhurriedly.

8. Check identification marks on your bags
Passing through control make sure the information on the luggage coupon coincides with your flight. Checking marks on your bags make sure the destination is right. Because of your inattentiveness your luggage may accidentally fly to another airport with similar marks.

9. Shoot your suitcases and carry shots with you
It may seem ridiculous, but filling an application form for a material claim regarding the lost suitcase it may be difficult to recall how exactly your suitcase looked like. A presented shot shall speed up searching.

10. Send your luggage beforehand
Such companies as “Personal Porter” and “Sports Express” provide the service of an accurate delivery of luggage in almost all places of the world. By the time of your arrival your luggage shall already be waiting for you either in your hotel or in the office.
