The tourists visiting Rome won't have a possibility to drink or raise their voice on the historical streets of the "eternal city". The new mayor of Rome, Gianni Alemanno that came to this post from the Right parties, has issued an order about the norms of the public behavior that restricts eating, drinking or "making noise" on the streets in the center of the Italian capital.

Gianni Alemanno is a former leader of the neo-fascist youth movement. He made the loyalty and order - to the slogan of his election campaign in April. Besides, he has promised to "clear" the city from the immigrants and gypsies.

The rules of behavior at the streets of Rome restrict leaving litter, sleeping, posting advertisement and to ease nature. These norms are quite traditional and are active in most of the world cities. But the new set of rules tells that now you can't "stop to eat or drink something" and "cry, sing or behave yourself loud" in the center of Rome.

The representatives of the mayor's office tell that the restrictions are active immediately and will remain as an experiment till October of this year. They apply to all places that have historical, cultural or artistic value, especially in the historical center of the city. They have also added that the new rules will be applied according to the common sense.

There is currently no information about punishments that are planned for the violators of the new rules.

The authorities of the city that welcomes huge amounts of tourists every year, have to toughen the legislation every time. Currently there is a serious fine for those, who decide to bathe in a fountain that represents historical value. It is also prohibited to hang out washing out of the windows and to graze pets on the pavements. Though, in spite of all the efforts of the authorities, fountain bathing and washing hung out above the heads of pedestrians is an integral part of the cityscape.

Besides the legislated rules, there is a separate private tourist "behavior code" in the Italian capital. So, for example, shorts, t-shirts and too short skirts are not really welcomed in Rome. There is no fine for this, but you will be probably not allowed to enter not only museums and temples, but shops as well.
