The official presentation of the lake Titikaka as a candidate for receiving the title of the Natural Wonder of the World shall take place on 9 December in Bolivia.

This initiative in Bolivia is coordinated by José Luis Paredes Muñoz, the Prefect of La-Paz. The program is aimed at popularization of the Bolivian part of the lake Titikaka as a tourist route from the sector of Huatajata to Island of the Sun (las Islas del Sol) and Lin with the final point in the Cobacabana Resort.

Within the program at each stop the tourists shall enjoy performances of aboriginal artists based on mystical rituals addressed to "Pachamama" (the Mother Earth), peculiar to the culture of Aymara.

The lake Titikaka is the essential water source for the whole population. According to the preserved information, on shores of Titikaka had old since lived the tribes of Aymara Indians, Chiuli and Lupacas, who were at feud with each other.
