About 5% of travelers have to visit physicians during their tourist trips or right after their coming back from foreign voyages with different complaints, according to the research data of the company "Мondial Assistance Group", that deals with the tourist insurance all over the world. According to the data of the World Health Organization, the situation is much more serious: 50-75 % of the tourists, who have visited the tropics, have problems with health. During the winter this problem is especially critical for those, who traditionally leave their cold home places for tropical countries as winter sets in.

These days buying tours to Egypt and Thailand very few people think that their trip to the warm sea can turn into great problems. Sudden climatic change, weakened organism and unusual atmosphere can play a bad trick on a tourist. It is enough to eat at an unknown restaurant or to get sea water casually and there is a risk to find yourself on a hospital bed instead of a beach.

According to the estimation of insurers, 5% of tourists have to visit physicians during their trips or right after their coming back from foreign voyages. And half of them are victims of so-called "illnesses of dirty hands". In other words, tourists simply do not keep elementary hygiene regulations. As a result they have to receive medical treatment for acute intestinal disorder, accompanied with diarrhea. In 5 % of cases visiting of a doctor ends with hospitalization. Moreover, 1-3% of tourists catch serious infections during their visiting of exotic countries.

However, according to the data of the World Health Organization, the situation is much more serious. 50-75 % of the tourists, who have visited the tropics, have problems with health or get hurt. People buying their tour, usually think only about distant voyages and do not think about their own safety. Often tourists do not keep even elementary safety requirements and behave themselves irresponsibly at their vacation place. They do not read instructions which are made specially for them by the tour operator, where they specify all possible dangers of the future travel.

Travelers hope for their medical insurance at best. But it could hardly help a seriously ill tourist. The insurance is valid only during your trip, but dangerous tropical illnesses are usually evidenced after returning home. Besides if you still get in a hospital abroad, they will provide you only with the primary health care. The amount of the insurance is insignificant. It is necessary to pay extra for serious treatment. It is necessary to give special attention to your food while traveling to southern countries. Drink water only from bottles, and eat only in known restaurants, better in your hotel. It is forbidden to swallow sea water. It should not get in your oral cavity and your nose at all. Besides tour operators have a list of the countries, before traveling to any of them you need to get some special inoculations. It concerns first of all African countries.
