Results of the annual studies of world’s economies have recently been published in Switzerland. At the same time specialists have identified the country with the best working conditions. The first place is as before occupied by the USA. The list of the most attractive countries has also included Singapore and Hong Kong.

Despite of the favorable working conditions in the USA, the highest salary is paid in Luxembourg. Its income level per capita makes up more than $65.5 thousand per year. This tiny European state is followed by another tiny state from the Persian Gulf – Qatar, with the population of 744 thousand people. The income level per capita makes up $65 thousand here. The level of approximately $50 thousand belongs to the Swiss. Then the list is continued by Norway, the USA, Denmark, Japan, Sweden and Germany.

In return, the citizens of the Old Europe may boast of the duration of leave. The shortest working week is in France – only 35 hours. But this is not enough for the French. The local researchers have recently presented to the Government a report, according to which approximately 10 million of their compatriots do not get enough sleep which leads to various diseases and depression. There is only one solution – to legalize after-diner break for sleep! The authorities were so imbued with the problem that they assigned 6 million Euros for further study of this issue. At the beginning they decided to permit a short rest of approximately 15 minutes. If the results are declared successful, the French Government shall legalize this practice throughout the country. Besides, their leave is one of the longest in the world. However, the longest leave is in Germany. It makes up six weeks or 30 working days. Those who are above 40 years old have an extra vacation day, and after 50 they get one more day. Leave can be taken partially – several times per year. The favorite German trick is to fill working periods between holidays with leave days. For example, you shall have to take only 4-days leave between Christmas and the New Year to rest 12 days.

For comparison: in Japan leave makes up only 18 days and in the USA even less – 12 days. Besides, the USA is the only country in the world where the time of the paid leave is not stipulated by the legislation.

Although the Koreans do not disdain to eat our minor brother animals, they surpass the whole world in the view of arrangement of the working places. The South Korea has the lowest unemployment rate in the world – only 3.6%.

Holland and Denmark may boast of the same indicators. Then comes Australia. The unemployed citizens of the Green continent make up only 6% of the population. In the EU countries the unemployment rate makes up approximately 16%. Such a high level is explained by the Poland’s unemployment rate that makes up almost 30%.

By the way, the UNO has recently published the periodical rating of countries according to the level of human development. Iceland was declared the best country for residence in the world. Norway had occupied the first position in this rating for the last six years. This year it has occupied the second place.

Norway is followed by Australia, Canada, Ireland and Sweden. The USA, the leader of the world economy, has occupied only the 12th position of the rating. On the whole, the list includes 70 countries.

Another 88 countries are included in the second group with the so called “medium level of employment”. It includes developing countries, the most prosperous according to the measures of the “third world”: Kazakhstan (73rd position), Ukraine (76th position), Armenia (83rd position).

According to the UNO, the worst life is in African countries. The three of them: Sierra Leone, Burkina Faso and Guinea Bissau are declared the most unfavorable countries in the world as regards living conditions. People seldom live longer than 50 years here, and only one third of them can read and write.
