According to British ‘Telegraph’, an elderly Englishwoman has several times crossed the Indo-Nepalese border having presented only her discount fare passage ticket.

Native of Churchstow city, Devon, 72-year old Helen Carter was on a trip abroad with a group of tourists. The hotel people stayed in, was situated in India, however the routes of their walks and rides often crossed the Nepalese border.

As Carter said, she wasn’t told to take her passport along on the day of the journey across the border, that is why she has left it in her room.

“When I showed my passage ticket the frontiersman just smiled and then waved me a farewell. During our trip we crossed the border for three more times, and every time my public transport ticket was accepted, though I had to complete several forms,” the traveler reminds.

The pensioner is veteran of at least seven journeys, except Nepal she visited Tibet, Peru, Ethiopia, Mexico and Morocco.

“Every pensioner should try to travel. Just don’t forget your passage tickets,” jokes Carter.
