“Jules Verne” restaurant at the Eiffel Tower will become a glass one. |
Famous French restaurateur Alan Dukass, the holder of the 14 Michelin stars – the leading restaurant rating in the world, will open at the Eiffel Tower the renewed “Jules Verne” restaurant.
The author of the plan – architect Patrique Jouen – “wrapped” restaurant’s hall in special glass that enables visitors to enjoy city’s views even in the evening when the light in the restaurant is turned on. The restaurant located 125 meters above the earth was closed for the reconstruction for the last four months.
For the preparation of “semi-finished products” and the placement of a large wine cellar a special “underground culinary laboratory” is created because the 45 meter large kitchen in the tower is too small for the servicing of 120 visitors. At the same time dishes given to the visitors are prepared directly in the tower by 17 cooks that are headed by Pascal Féraud.
It’s planned to make out of “Jules Verne” the “showpiece of the French cooking”, yet it won’t be an inaccessible first-class restaurant as "Plaza Athenee" in Paris or “Louis XV” in Monaco. The lunch in “Jules Verne” will cost 75 €, the average evening bill varies from 155 to 170 € without drinks.
