A restaurant in the form of an elk will be constructed in Sweden

The biggest elk in the world will be constructed in Northern Sweden, as it was reported by the official authorities, who allowed its construction after 3 years of debates that concerned the realization of the project.

The building in the form of an 45 meters tall elk will be placed on the top of the Vithatten mountain, with a restaurant and a concert hall for 350 people that will be situated in the building. From the elk’s horns-sight grounds people will be able to enjoy the wonderful Swedish nature, from the height of more than 500 meters above sea level.

The author of the project Thorbjorn Holmlund told The Local magazine that he is unbelievably happy. For a long time Holmlund has organized safari for tourists, who hoped to see the king of forests – the elk – in its natural habitat. Now almost all the dwellers and guests of Vasterbotten district will be able to see the silhouette of the monumental elk from a distance.

The muzzle of the elk-building will be supported by a giant tower-pine, inside of which a lift will be situated. The lift will bring people to the elk’s mouth, the entry of the building. The reception will be located between the elk’s teeth and tonsils. The conference hall, that can also be a concert hall, will be situated in the animal’s belly. Visitors will be able to move from one level to another by spiral stairs, situated in the elk’s legs.

The author of the project hopes that the construction will begin already in the end of this year. The local forest will be used for the construction of the building. The restaurant will use local products. The construction will cost about 6- mln krones (6,5 million dollars).
