A mechanical cow, producing a steam jet at a definite time, has become a new place of interest of the Scottish capital.

The rear part of the cow fixed to the wall of the pub “Rowan Tree” in the Old City, a historical district of Edinburgh, three times a day raises its mechanical tail and produces a steam jet.

Thus, the mechanism working according to the schedule allows synchronizing the time just like another Edinburgh place of interest - One O'clock Gun, a gun shooting at one o’clock every day.

The cow was installed more than a year ago, however, the mechanism, allowing it to produce steam, was mounted not long ago.

Despite of this, the cow has already become popular with local citizens and tourists.

Norry Rowan, the owner of the pub, said, “The cow is popular throughout Edinburgh, therefore hundreds of tourists are always walking along my pub and shooting it”.
